CHROMOSOME NUMBERS OF SOME IRANIAN SPECIES OF THE GENUS EUPHORBIA (EUPHORBIACEAE)

Chromosome numbers of 10 species of Euphorbia have been studied. For E. turzaninowii Kar. & Kir. (2n=20), E. monostyla Prokh. (2n=20), E. densa Schrenk. (2n=20), E. aucheri Boiss. (2n=20) chromosome numbers were discovered for the first time. For E. szovitsii Fisch. & C. A. Mey. (2n=40) the tetraploid cytorace was discovered for the first time. For other species chromosome numbers are in agreement with literature data.
