The genus Thymelaea Mill. in the Caucasus

The article presents the results of taxonomic analysis of two species of the genus Thymelaea Mill. in the Caucasus. The main synonyms, altitudes, ecological and area data of the rare in Armenia and the Caucasus Irano- Turanian species T. mesopotamica (C. Jeffrey) B. Peterson and widely spread in the mentioned area species T. passerina (L.) Coss. & Germ. are presented. On the basis of the study of herbarium materials from the Caucasus the key for identification of the species of Thymelaea genera was prepared; the genera is represented in Armenia by the mentioned two species, while in the rest of the Caucasus – only by T. passerina species.
