The journal has been published since 2011. In the first issue of the journal editorial council announces about renaming the journal ”Flora, vegetation and plant resources of Armenia”.  The new name of the journal is “Takhtajania” in honor of one of the great botanists of   XXth century Armen Leoni Takhtajan. The first issue is dedicated to the 100-th anniversary of Takhtajan's birthday. The first four issues were published in printed and electronic forms, starting from the   fifth issue, the journal is published only in electronic form. The journal and each article published in the issue, starting from 9 issue, are provided with a DOI.
